elaine pamphilon

I can't remember where I first saw the paintings of Elaine Pamphilon but I have adored them ever since. One day I will buy one, I hope that her style does not change whilst I'm saving up my pennies.
Many of her images depict aspects of St. Ives, Cornwall and evoke memories of a place that I love to visit, especially out of season when the back streets are empty and there is no noise other that the crying of gulls. I'm also inspired by the delicate, soft layering of paint and the quirky composition of domestic items, but often unusual objects collected together.
