photos of Southwold - Suffolk

I have this print by Sarah Young on the wall next to my bed, I love the combination of the illustrative style with the use of lino print.

There is a lovely gallery in Southwold called the Serena Hall Gallery. I came across the work of a printmaker, Sarah Young, here. In one of the galleries upstairs rooms, was an amazing collagraph by her based on the circus, it was made up of 9 panels each at least 12" square, each one similar to the print above.

Beach huts at Southwold.

Beach huts along the sea front.

Some of the local houses and fishermans huts are clapboard painted black (it appears to be an architectural tradition distinctive to this area) which gives it a curiously scandinavian feel.
